Attractive in head, well made in front, well developed body and hindquarters. Move with confidence and a sound action. Best Puppy in Breed, Best Utility Group Puppy and pleased my co-judge loved him enough to award him Best Puppy in Show. Limit Dog or Bitch 1st E Stewart-Smith’s FOREPAWS PAWS FOR THOUGHT litter sister to my Puppy winner. Very pleasing in head and overall conformation sharing many of the merits of her brother. Happy in temperament but unsettled in front and rear action. Open Dog 1st Rault’s CAVATEENA AUTUMN WHISPER a 2½ year old well coated and well presented male who has a mature look and coming into his prime. Breed typical in appearance having a handsome head and endearing expression, well made front, ideal body in length and substance with firm, strong hindquarters which he used well on the move. Best of Breed, Best Utility Group and again quality recognised by my co-judge who awarded him Reserve Best in Show. POODLE (TOY) Puppy Dog or Bitch 1st Smithers’ WATERSPRIDE TAKE THE LEAD AT MEANTMORE Raf a very raw 6 month old who has all the shape, bone and body desired in a young puppy. Pleasing head and expression combined with an overall body of year old good size. Very active movement but having pleasing width behind. Best Puppy in Breed. Attractive head and expression, true front, well bodied and moderate good width hindquarters. Free moving with positive front and rear action. Best of Breed and Utility Group 3. LHASA APSO Puppy dog or Bitch 1st Walker’s PETWALK UP CLOSE ‘N PERSONAL Naf/Raf an impressive 11 month old young male presented in excellent coat and condition. Striking in overall look; handsome head, good neck, well made in front, body and hindquarters. Excellent overall shape and appearance. Free moving but needs to be more precise in front. Best Puppy in Breed and Utility Puppy Group 2. Open Bitch 1st Walker’s PETWALKINSPIRATIONAL a 15month old bitch who is well constructed all through. She presents an eye-catching picture being well coated and presented to perfection. Very attractive head size and shape, sturdy ideal length body and stable nicely angled hindquarters. Moved with a sound positive action. Best of Breed, Utility Group 2 and Best Junior in Show. FRENCH BULLDOG 1st Oliver’s GLYNFELIN REGAL FONTAINE a very smart 12 month old youngster who has a breed typical appearance. Very attractive head and expression, well made in front, sturdy body and moderate hindquarters. Still developing with pleasing basic conformation to go on from. Moved with confidence with pleasing front action although rear action needs to strengthen. Best Puppy and Best of Breed and Utility Group 4. I felt honoured to be invited to judge at this lovely show, it was an appointment I looked forward to & I wasn’t disappointed. Thank you for your entries & for all the help & hospitality given to me in such a short stay on your lovely Island. The show was held at the Royal Jersey Showground, in their new hall which had plenty of light, space & fresh air. It certainly is a lovely venue & you are very lucky to have it.
At the end of a busy day, it was Cme for best in show. My choice from the seven excellent exhibits went to the Whippet, Alamayn Equinox Cassidy at Kipipiriking; RBIS was a smashing Shih Tzu, Rault’s Cavateena Autumn Whisper, in super coat & condiCon, thank you Graham Hill for sending him forward. BIS3 was the GSP, Quintana Diamond Dusk at Friarbelle; BIS4 the Cesky Terrier, Idefix Day Break at Gayteckels; BIS5, the Chihuahua; BIS6 the Alaskan Malamute & BIS7 went to the Shetland Sheepdog.
BPIS went to the Shih Tzu, Stewart-Smith’s Forepaws Fury, RBPS went to the same owner’s Papillon, Forepaws Dutch Courage. Best Junior in Show went to the Cocker with the Lhasa, Petwalk InspiraConal in reserve. Best Veteran in Show was the BIS Whippet with the terrier group winning Cesky in reserve. Best Brace in Show went to the lovely Pomeranians of Julian Schofield with ChrisCne MareZ’s Cesky Terriers in reserve.
TERRIERS - IRISH TERRIERS – P (0) L (1) 1 Le Couilliard’s Amberville Cassian Royale, this 2 year old male has potenCal for he is of a good size & balanced, masculine head & expression with a good eye & well place & carried ears, in good coat which was well presented, moved well in profile just sCll a touch close in front but he has a good ribcage & a lovely type. BOB. OB (1) 1 Kucza’s Int Ch/Pl Ch Amberville Fortune Cookie, 7 year old dam of the BOB & again a very typical Irish, very feminine in outlook, well made all through with a good coat which was well presented, just preferred the dog for BOB for his masculinity & outlook. SCll a lovely type to work with & has proved it with her son. SCOTTISH TERRIERS – OB (1,1a). JACK RUSSELL TERRIERS – OD (1) 1 McFarlane’s Kabu Take It To The Max, this dog is now 3 & should really be moving beZer. He was very naughty & did not make the best of himself nor show to advantage. Put down in good coat, he will made, but when he moved he just threw it all away. BOB. CESKY TERRIERS – P (0) L (1) 1 MareZ’s Gayteckels Musical Melody, such a preZy bitch who makes the best of her talents, in profile kept a correct topline with a well carried tail & excellent head carriage, so very feminine with correct proporCons to her head with well set & carried ears, lovely neck & shoulders, put down in lovely coat & condiCon, she is quality. OD (1) 1 MareZ’s Idefix Day Break at Gayteckels, he may be 8 but he certainly deserves his crown, sire of the OB winner & certainly producing a lovely type. This mature dog is quality & he comes alive on the move, looking a picture in profile with his correct topline & tailset, he is balanced with a masculine head & expression, in excellent coat & condiCon, he is well muscled & looks the part, he just got beZer as the day went on & as well as BOB, he took G1, BIS3 & RBVIS. His win today made him a Jersey Champion. OB (2) 1 MareZ’s Gayteckels Sister Act, well muscled bitch who is balanced & an excellent type, such a feminine head & expression, with an well presented coat, moved well on well boned legs & feet, showed well to beat her sister into 2nd place, MareZ’s Gayteckels BoZoms Up, very close up & similar comments apply, I bet these two change places on a regular basis! Slightly darker in coat but again well presented & an excellent type, again moved well covering the ground with purpose & good head carriage. STAFFORDS – OB (1) 1 Fletcher & Seedhouse’s Fairlenium Nordic Queen at Granitangel, alone in this entry but sCll worthy of her first & BOB, she is sCll young but has potenCal, very feminine with a good head & well carried ears, nice type who, when she seZled, moved well, good legs & feet, good ribcage & tailset. BOB & G3 & BP, my thanks to the owner who apologised that she was unable to stay for best puppy later. TERRIER GROUP was won by the Cesky Terrier, G2 the Irish Terrier, G3 the Stafford & G4 the Jack Russell Terrier. AV TERRIER – J (1) 1 F Nordic Queen at G. Pageant, 10 year old Irish Terrier bitch, who for her age looked amazing, she is a credit to her owner for the condiCon she was put down in, excellent earset on a feminine head & expression, in good coat & moved very well. TERRIER BRACE – 1 a well matched pair of Cesky Terriers owned by Mrs MareZ, moved so well together, took Reserve Best Brace in Show; 2 a good pair of Irish Terriers who were both of good type & moved as one. GUNDOGS – IRISH SETTERS - OB (1) Cox’s Tiroen To The Moon And Back, well coated bitch of quality, so very typical & well balanced, set up she shows a feminine head & expression, lovely neck & shoulders, strong topline & well set & carried tail, in good coat with lovely legs & feet, good depth of chest & strong loin, lovely hindquarters, moved well for her handler. Alone but I am sure she would win well in company. BOB & G4. AMERICAN COCKER SPANIELS – OD (1) 1 Houghton’s Fielgar Flyin The Flag, buff boy from the top drawer, he is well coated of the correct texture, again a veteran but not showing his age at all, masculine head & expression, good neck & shoulders, good topline & tailset which was well carried, moved well on well boned legs & feet, looked the picture in profile movement showing good balance & lovely proporCons. BOB & G2. COCKER SPANIELS – P (3) 1 White’s Granrose Blue Topaz, such a preZy b/r puppy bitch of just 9 months, lovely head & expression with ears of a good length, she is just right for age with a good neck & shoulders, excellent topline & tailset, just the right amount of coat for age, a quality baby who is feminine & has lots of promise with her correct movement, very balanced. BP, PG1 & Best Junior in Show; 2 White’s Granrose Misty Blue, b/r, a more developed sister to 1, in good coat but she just needs to relax & enjoy the show. Very early in her career but I am sure with pracCce she will soon get the hang of it & enjoy her day; 3 White’s Granrose Blue Skies, liZer brother. L (1) 1 White’s Granrose Blue Horizon, older puppy dog who moved OK, just needs to firm up & mature up to complete the picture, in good coat & condiCon, he is balanced with a masculine head & expression which just needs to finish, good neck & shoulders, good topline & tailset. OD (2) 1 White’s Granrose Golden Chance, this golden dog of 5 is slightly longer in body & not so cobby as some but I like his head & expression, he is very typical, in good coat, moving in profile he has a good head carriage & used his tail to good effect, no mistaking his sex; 2 Moulin’s Majikcharms Star Gazer, 10 year old of a lovely type, enjoying his day by moving so well & exuberantly round the ring, he just made me smile, masculine head & expression with a good neck, lovely legs & feet & great for his age. OB (2) 1 White’s Granrose Blue Sapphire, b/r balanced bitch of not quite 4, moved well on well boned legs & feet, put down in excellent coat & condiCon, feminine head & expression, good neck & shoulders, good topline & tailset, lovely hindquarters, this quality bitch took BOB; 2 White’s Granrose Golden Ruby Sands, not quite the balance of 1 but so very feminine with a lovely head & expression, in lovely coat & condiCon, played up on the move but when she seZled you can see that she is well made, obviously was enjoying her day! GOLDEN RETRIEVERS – OB (1) 1 De Gruchy’s Mardargold White Lady, very feminine bitch of 4 who was put down in excellent coat & condiCon, she is mature & moved well on good legs & feet, lovely feminine head & expression with well carried ears, good neck & shoulders, good ribcage & strong loin with lovely hindquarters. Alone but could do well in company. BOB. BRACCO ITALIANO – P (1) 1 Dubois’ Withamfriary Veni Vidi Vici, moved well & steadily for she is only a real baby, showed & tried really hard to please, would be interested to see her progress when she is an adult for as a baby she is just right, preZy head with eyes sCll to darken but she is well made & a nice type, lovely bone & feet, alone but can take company. L (1,1) OB (1) 1 Moulin’s Gunsyn Ginontherock De Majikisles, mature bitch of quality, sound mover with the correct extended trot & in profile correct head carriage & a good topline, feminine head & expression, well boned legs & feet & good depth & width of chest, very typical of the breed. BOB. FIELD SPANIELS – L (1) 1 Ward’s Elgert Addicted To Love at Simbarra, overall this young bitch is a good made & shape, preZy head & expression with a good neck & shoulders, well boned legs & feet, good body proporCons, moved ok, covering the ground with ease, alone today but she is typical. BOB. ENGLISH SPRINGER SPANIELS – P (2) 1 Cox’s Tiroen Tiger Lily, preZy bitch who is just right for age, she is well made & balanced & moved true & well for one so young, put down in excellent coat & condiCon, showed with style & a maturity belying her age, she is quality & a good type. PG2; 2 Kezourec’s Tiroen True Gent, liZer brother to 1 & now I see the breeding, I can see why I like these two! He is not as forward as 1 & head sCll needs to finish & he needs to grow into his body but Cme is on his side. Again sCll a bit loose in movement at present but this should Cghten up with age. Petronella Fleur De Lily avec Tiroen, mature bitch of a good type, feminine all through & put down in excellent coat & condiCon, good topline & tailset, moved well on well boned legs & feet, very feminine in outlook with such a preZy head & expression, took BOB & carried on to go G3 in a strong gundog group. LABRADOR RETRIEVERS – P (1) 1 Hayes’ Berlan Final Dreamboy, yellow from the top drawer, he is well made & moved well for his age, he is only 9 months but sCll has a good coat & is in lovely condiCon, masculine head & expression which just has to finish, lovely neck & shoulders, with a good topline & strong hindquarters, showed well to take BOB & PG3. GERMAN SHORTHAIRED POINTERS – L (1) Dymond’s Quintana Diamond Dust at Friarsbelle, I have liked this quality boy before & he is just what the breed needs in a male at the moment, I have not changed my opinion, he has just got beZer, he is a good size with an excellent neck & shoulders, good topline & tailset, good depth of chest, strong well muscle hindquarters but where he comes alive is on the move, he powered round he ring & said who else is here. Thrilled to give him BOB, G1 which gives him his first Jersey CC, & BIS3. OD (2) 1 Coe’s Goosepoint Waddington at Abbanash, typical boy with a lovely head & expression, so masculine in outlook, there is no mistaking his sex, good neck & shoulders, good topline & tailset, another excellent mover who really covered the ground with ease & style; 2 Michel’s Kavacan Orzo, he is sCll young & needs to finish, masculine head & expression, good hindquarters & topline, but his profile movement is spoilt by carrying his tail too high, but when he finishes he should be OK, for he is very typical of the breed. GUNDOG BRACE (3) 1 well matched pair of English Springers who moved well together; 2 b/r Cockers who were having fun! Being followed by another pair of Cocker from the same kennels. WORKING – ALASKAN MALAMUTES – L (1) 1 Brouard’s Orsama Pepe Le Peew, this excellent example of the breed moved well once he seZled, he is mature & of a lovely type, in excellent coat & condiCon, masculine head & expression with well placed ears which he used so well, excellent neck & shoulders, strong topline & well set tail, well boned legs & feet, very taken with him & he could win in any company. Won BOB & G1, for BIS he just lost his sparkle & took BIS6. OB (1) 1 Brouard’s Dreamwolves J’Adore at Orsamals, this 8 year bitch is a credit to her owner, she is very feminine & showed well, in enough coat but very preZy head & expression with a good forequarters & depth of chest, just a bit loose in tail carriage but she moved well for her age & is very feminine in outlook. PORTUGUESE WATER DOGS – OD (1) 1 McFarlane’s Micador Will I Am, not moving as well as his construcCon says he should, presentaCon OK, good head & expression, well made with a good topline & well set & carried tail, alone today but sCll worthy of his BOB & G4. RUSSIAN BLACK TERRIERS – OB (1) 1 Lynnyk’s Holodnaya Zhara VivaC Poltava, well presented bitch put down in excellent coat & condiCon, she is balanced & a good size, excellent profile movement really using her well boned legs & feet, to cover the ground with ease, showed well & is very feminine in outlook with such a preZy head. OD (1) 1 Sharrock’s Edison-Eiger vom Rickental, an Entlebucher Mountain Dog who really appealed, I thought he was an excellent type, he was well made & in excellent coat & condiCon, loved his balance & movement, masculine head & expression, I was very impressed with him & I wish him well. OD (3) 1 Lawson’s Alamayn Equinox Cassidy at Kipipiriking, cream boy of quality, loved his outline & make shape, what a lovely type with such a beauCful head & expression with well carried ears, lovely neck, forequarters, topline & tailset, put down in excellent coat & condiCon, showed his socks off covering the ring on the move with style & purpose. BOB, G1, making him a Jersey Champion at 8 years of age & BIS against strong compeCCon; 2 Lawson’s Ranveli Blue Breeze, br/w male of quality, moved & showed well, he is a nice type & he is very masculine in outlook, looking at his breeding I can now see why he appealed; 3 MoZershaw’s Baranesmore Cgers Eye for Elangeni. OB (2,1) 1 Officer’s Eeri Catch the Wind, preZy bitch who, when she moved, she covered the ground with ease, very feminine in outlook with good body proporCons, this br/w has a very feminine head & expression & is just clearing up an eye problem but she looks well & has plenty of Cme on her side. BEAGLES – OD (1) 1 Woodhouse’s Serenaker Bergerac avec Birybarn, very typical of his breeding, good pigmentaCon, sCll young but is a lovely type, good body proporCons with a masculine head & expression, good neck, shoulders, topline & tailset, moved & showed well, although alone could win well I think. BOB & G3. AV HOUNDS – J 1 Lawson’s Kipipiriking Luna May, this is a lovely bitch who was well handled & took 5th in a strong class earlier, moved & showed well, feminine head & expression, she is balanced & a nice type. V (1) A Equino Caidy at K. BRACE 1 MoZershaw & Officer’s brace of Salukis, who had done well in the breed & looked good together here. Alone but a worthy first.
