I wish to extend my sincere thanks to the officers and committee for inviting me to judge at this show. I felt honoured and was really looking forward to judging and visiting your wonderful Island. Thank you for the extremely warm welcome and the hospitality given to me it was a very memorable experience and one I will always treasure. Thank you also to the exhibitors who entered their wonderful dogs under me, it was an absolute delight to have the opportunity to go over some lovely dogs.

  • COX, TIROEN TO THE MOON AND BACK  4 year old beautiful feminine bitch who was presented in absolutely outstanding condition, beautiful feminine head with soft expressive eye, good chiselling, correct ear-set, elegant neck into good forequarters, straight forelegs with good bone and feet. Balanced angulation fore and aft, well muscled throughout with good rib and strong loin, she was presented in an excellent glossy coat.  She was a little erratic on the move to begin with, but once she settled into her stride she was a very stylish and sound mover with plenty of reach and drive displaying her very outgoing temperament lashing her tail as she went.  BOB

DUBOIS’ WITHAMFRIARY VENI VIDI VICI   14 month old femine bitch of good make and shape with a just off square outline, long lean head, lovely dark soft eye with good chiselling beneath, strong muzzle with large spongy nose.  Powerful short neck into correct forequarters, good bone and feet, correct topline. Developing nicely for her age, she still has some developing to do but time is on her side.  Very powerful muscled hindquarters which she uses on the move to display an excellent side gate BOB & G4

  • MOULINS’ GUNSYN GINONTHEROCK DEI MAJIKISLES Nearly 3 year old substantial bitch, presented in fit hard condition, she has the most beautiful head and expression with the correct amount of chiselling, good forequarters with well developed chest, straight forelegs with powerful bone, well developed body proportions, muscular croup and thighs and moves on a powerful stride and is sound fore and aft.

  • CARRE’S KAMUNTING ANDY’S REX At nearly 3 year old I believe this was the handlers and dogs first show, well she did exceptionally well, the dog was presented in immaculate condition, he was a little up to size but balanced for height to length ratio, strong masculine head, well off for bone good feet, strong neck level topline, with good body proportions, and well muscled throughout. He was very sound on the move and displayed a very outgoing temperament. BOB
  • ENGLISH SPRINGER SPANIEL

Limit

  •  TAYLOR’S TIROEN TRUE GENT I see these 2 are littler brother and sister, they are at different stages of development and I chose the winner which is the 18 month old male, he is up to size but is balanced for height to length ratio. He is strongly built with a strong mature head and a little light in the eye. Strong muscled neck into good lay of shoulder, level topline, good body proportions with depth and substance, well set tail. Presented in super coat and condition. Well muscled hindquarters with developed 2nd thigh. On the move he was true both coming and going but just tended to pace at times which cost him in the challenge.
  • COX’S TIREON TIGER LILY, she is such a feminine bitch with a balanced outline and good breed type. She still has quite a bit of developing to do but she has plenty of time. Loved her head and expression, super balanced forequarters, level topline, short loin. She was presented in immaculate gleaming coat and conditional.  She was very sound on the move with plenty of reach and drive. One to watch when she fully matures.

  • COX’S PETRONELLA FLUER DE LILY AVEC TIROEN 5 year old bitch of excellent breed type, balanced in outline, she is a lovely size, with good substance, yet feminine all through. Delightful feminine head, very well proportioned and full of quality, lovely eye with melting expression, well chiselled, she just flows from nose to tail, strong topline, super depth and spring of ribs, short coupled and good rear angulation. Presented in perfect condition and gleaming coat. She moved on a long stride which was free and positive. BOB & G3

HOUGHTON’S . ALIBAMA NO JOKE AT FIELGAR 10 month old super black dog, balanced in outline and is of good breed type. Super head with clean expressive eyes and good chiselling to his foreface. Clean neck into good forequarters, he is well bodied for his age, short and compact through the body with a strong topline and excellent tail set. Presented in good coat and condition. He was very reluctant on the move so he was difficult to assess. I was informed that the owner had not had him long, I think given time and with a little bit of patience if he gets his confidence back he will have a promising future. BP&BOB

RONDEL’S  PENNBEACON VIRTUOUS VIOLET 10 months old bitch of lovely breed type, very feminine in outlook, super head and soft gentle expression. Straight forelegs with good bone and feet, strong neck into well laid shoulders, well bodied for her age, strong loin, good angulation fore and aft, she just kept dropping her topline at times. Presented in good order and was very sound on the move both coming and going and in profile. BP, BOB & PG1 & 5TH BPIS

COCKER SPANIEL

WHITE’S GRANROSE BLUE TOPAZ 16 month old very feminine bitch who oozes quality and breed type, and is an absolute delight to go over. She is so well constructed, with a super balanced outline. She has the most beautiful head with dark expressive eyes and those eyelashes!, with a melting expression, correct chiselling. Clean neck into well angulated forequarters, with depth to chest, straight well boned forelegs and small tight feet. She has depth and excellent spring to rib, is short coupled, muscled hindquarters with good width over the croup, short neat hocks, presented in outstanding coat and condition. She really comes alive on the move with her typical cockery movement displaying her happy outgoing temperament and animation and her typical merry cockery movement, always holding her lovely shape as she went around the ring. BOB, G1 & 5th BIS

WHITE’S GRANROSE GOLDEN CHANCE  5 year old masculine up to size dog, masculine head, with good chiselling, lovely eye and soft gentle expression, correct ear set, strong neck into good forequarters, well off for bone, I would have preferred shorter nails. Excellent muscle tone throughout, balanced angulation fore and aft, presented in good coat and condition. Moved well BD

DUBOIS DEMIFFON RUBY OLENA 3 year old upstanding feminine bitch, presented in lovely condition, fit and very hard with excellent muscle tone. Lovely head and expression, strong neck into well placed shoulder assembly, enough depth of chest strong level back, moderately angulated hindquarters, very sound on the move with excellent side gait. Handled very well, BOB

GERMAN SHORTHAIRED POINTER.

MICHEL’S KAVACANNE ORZO 3 year old male who is powerful and fit all through, and gives the impression of being able to work all day. Masculine head and expression, strong neck, well laid shoulder with a good return of upper arm. Straight forelegs with good bone and tight feet, strong correct topline and well set tail, strong muscled hindquarters, he stands over plenty of ground. On the move he is sound and steady and moves on an easy stride BOB & G2

Clean and typical in outline and is of good breed type. Smart and stylish on the move with accurate footfall and keeping his topline at all times, Presented in super coat and muscle tone.

WHITE’S GRANROSE SAPPHIRE DESIGN  8 years old Cocker Spaniel bitch and another one who belies her age, pretty head and gentle expression. Really cobby and cockery, she held her topline well as she moved around the ring.

MARETT’S MARETT’S GAYTECKELS BOTTOMS UP Pdh I could not believe this bitch was over 7 years old, again she is so fit and well muscled, she is extremely feminine A very feminine and presented in fabulous condition. Lovely head and very expressive eyes, really used her ears, she was handled to perfection Moved accurately and with purpose

Appeals in head shape, with strength yet femininity all through. Well balanced fore and aft, she was presented in excellent muscle tone. Stands up on good feet, and moved on a powerful stride. She was just a little erratic on the move to begin with but once she got into her stride she moved well. BOB & G3

  • MARETT’S JSY CH IDEFIX DAY BREAK AT GAYTECKELS Pdh  Cesky Terrier My notes said wow what a fabulous fit alert dog, at 9 years old he would put a lot of youngsters to shame. He is so full of quality and demands attention. I loved his overall shape, his head and expression, strong neck, well laid shoulders into super angulated forequarter. Correct topline rising slightly to well arched loin. Presented in fantastic muscle tone and another one from this kennel who is an agility dog. He really comes alive on the move keeping his shape and moves with great propulsion. Best Veteran In Show.

  • WALKER’S SOLINO’S THE ENTERTAINER FOR PETWALK (Hu Import) At just 7 months old this young man certainly is the entertainer. I absolutely loved him, he is such an eye catching puppy who was so outgoing. He is so sound all through and so well put together and well muscled for one so young.  Loved his head and eye with a cheeky and mischievous expression. Large erect ears with no furnishing I found out later that he was an import and that the ears are shaved where he came from. Lovely clean neck, super front with fine, yet strong bone, level topline. Moved with style, really driving from behind. A quality puppy and one to watch for the future.

WALKER’S KARAMOUCHE MY LITTLE PONY FOR PETWALK striking 11 month old young lady who was so feminine and pretty. She had a lovely head and expression, super almond shaped eye, well set ears and well fringed. Elegant neck into good shoulders, clean front with fine yet strong bone. Correct length of body, not too square, level topline, her movement was a joy to watch, so elegant with plenty of reach in front and powering from the rear maintaining her shape at all times. This exhibitor is definitely going to have some fun with these two puppies. BP, BOB, and pleased to see her win Best Puppy and Best Junior in Show

MACKAY’S BEAULAMEY SHOW ME THE MONEY FOR TARABISH 14 month old young man who screams quality and demands your attention. He is so well balanced all through.  Loved his head and eye. He is very alert and has the cheekiest of expressions.  Super body proportions, strong hindquarters with good muscle. He absolutely comes alive on the move holding his shape with his head held high and strutting his stuff. I absolutely loved him. BOB, G1 and was thrilled to watch him win Best In Show.

  • BISSON’S JICARA DONE’N DUSTED I could not believe this young lady was 8 years old she just showed her heart out every second she was in the ring. Extremely feminine in outlook, lovely head and eye with alert cheeky expression, well set ears. Good forequarters, firm level topline, good tail set carried well which she never stopped wagging. She was presented in outstanding coat and condition, on the move she is so stylish and true with the typical brisk action holding her shape at all times. Reserve Best Veteran in Show

STEWART-SMITH FOREPAWS DUTCH COURAGE  17 month old young man Head well balanced with a very expressive dark eye. Super fringing to ears.  Good body proportions, level topline, balanced fore and aft. Moves so well in profile but just tends to be a little erratic behind. BOB.

  • BISSON’S PARISLAND QUEEN OF THE SOUTH BEAULAMEY 11 month old extremely feminine well made young lady who is full of quality and style. She is so outgoing with such a happy temperament, ultra feminine head large dark eyes and well placed ears which were attentive at all times. Super width of body and ribbing, strong hindquarters and she used them to good effect. Presented in fit hard condition and super coat and furnishing. She is so accurate and stylish on the move.   • MICHEL’S PEKEHUIS SORCEROR AT KSARINA At just over 10 years old this young man put on a super performance and certainly belies his age. Presented in beautiful coat and condition and still has plenty of muscle tone. Good head, eye and expression. Compactly built and still quite shapely, firm topline, well proportioned and balanced moved with confidence. BOB

How lucky were Jacqui and I to have the pleasure of being in Jersey with super dogs, marvellous hospitality from the fabulous committee and a first class hotel to boot!

I must mention Artur, my steward. His first time officiating in this capacity. He had the ring flowing smoothly. What a star. Thank you to all.

Best in Show - Judge Mrs Patsy Hollings

BEST IN SHOW:  Beaulamey Show Me The Money For Tarabish - Chihuahua Smooth Coat owned by Miss C MacKay. This junior dog, presented a balanced picture with good deportment. He never put a foot wrong and was completely unfazed by his competitors. Whilst refined, he still displayed masculinity. Rounded skull, with large mobile ears used to advantage. Bright, round dark eyes. Stand squarely on fine boned legs. Super body and brisk movement retaining the solid outline.

RESERVE BEST IN SHOW: Mrs J Le Claire - Fontanarossa Equator: Great Dane. Well, from one extreme to the other! Again, whilst still a junior, she has the most beautiful stance and firmness of shape. Powerful feminine with elegance. Stately outlook from her clean head, which has length and strength in muzzle. The ached neck flows smoothly through well laid shoulder, neat elbows and straight front legs. Level firm back to developed loin and width to rump. Really muscular quarters and strong hocks.

THIRD BEST IN SHOW: Petwalk Inspirational (Owned by Mr P Walker & Mrs K Journeaux) – Lhasa Apso. Immaculate presentation on this young well developed bitch of super proportions and therefore typical in balance and type. Has that ‘snooty ‘expression, from her clean dark eye, set in her lovely head piece. Sound in bone, legs and feet both ends. Long well covered ribs to short muscular loin, providing firm back. Full coat tops a super picture.

FOURTH BEST IN SHOW: Miss B Beaumont & Miss H Bisson - Woodhenge Stars In Your Eyes For Beaulamey - Welsh Corgi Pembroke. Impressive youngster, just over a year old and has an air of quality and is very typical throughout. Low set with clearance. Gorgeous head, carriage to neck and presented in full bloom of full coat. She is active with good footfall and a confident air.

FIFTH BEST IN SHOW: Miss C White - Granrose Blue Topaz - Spaniel (Cocker). Gleaming coat, tops a sound, fit feminine bitch with a true cocker attitude. She never stops wagging her well placed tail. Lovely clean head, correct skull, low ear and bright outlook from the clean eye. Big ribs, firm loin and width to rump. Presented in prime order .Very smart.

SIXTH BEST IN SHOW: Mr S & Mrs P Mottershaw & Mrs F Officer - Ir Ch Ulmarra Naa (Jun.ch.Jd) (Imp Ire) - Saluki. Agile smooth lithe action on this shapely, dignified male. Has a long dry head and that far away look in his oval eye. Pleased for size and balance. Each part smoothly follows into the next, with depth to brisket and length of rib, to correct cut up. Easy action.

SEVENTH BEST IN SHOW: Mrs C V Marett - Gayteckels Musical Melody: Cesky Terrier. Completed a quality line up here. Presented in excellent condition and moves with good foot placement and typical shpely form. Has length to head ending at big nose and strong jaw. Clean ach to neck. Good proportions all though.


BEST PUPPY IN SHOW: Mr P Walker: Karamouche My Little Pony for Petwalk- Chinese Crested.This bitch is just right for balance and emits a confident stylish attitude with excellent deportment as she easily covers the ground, working with handler to advantage. Balance of skull, ears low set and mobile with good carriage. Clean cheeks to tapering muzzle. Fine boned legs of good length. Good ribbing and short firm loin. Muscular quarters .Very smart.

RESERVE BEST PUPPY IN SHOW: Mrs C A Allen- Ribans Our Impressive Queen - Shetland Sheepdog. Under the clean well groomed, profuse, double coat is a well-developed body of correct proportions and muscle. She has balance of head, sweet expression and tapering muzzle with well placed teeth. Good topline, to slope of croup and continuation of tail. In this final she used the ring to display her quality.

THIRD BEST PUPPY IN SHOW: Miss C A Smithers: Tuttlebees White Venture at Meantmore - Toy Poodle. Cheeky and so typical, wherever you looked at him. 9 month male, so well put together and in super body. Appeals in head with that spark from his dark eye. Soundly constructed and firm in shape. Lively, with style on the move.

FOURTH BEST PUPPY IN SHOW: Mrs F Officer: Eeri Thanks For The Dance – Whippet. She has femininity and is balanced throughout with shape and good side gait. Dry head, reach of neck, good rib to developed loin and correct cut up. Width of rump and muscular quarters, tapered tail not carried too high.

FIFTH BEST PUPPY IN SHOW: Mrs J Rondel - Pennbeacon Virtuous Violet - Golden Retriever. In full boat and level back with tail straight off and used well. Pleased in head, well set eye, good pigmentation. Quality bone and decent feet.


BEST JUNIOR IN SHOW:  Mr P Walker: Karamouche My Little Pony for Petwalk - Chinese Crested. Repeat and well deserved.


BEST VETERAN IN SHOW: Mrs C V Marett - Jsy Ch Idefix Day Break At Gayteckels Pdh - Cesky Terrier. Hard, fit in first class order .What a super male. He is typical with a grand head, good ear use and bright attentive eye. Shapely throughout. Sound, honest .Nothing to dislike here and goes with brisk action and never loses outline. Silky coat and expertly prepared.

BEST BRACE IN SHOW: Mr S & Mrs P Mottershaw & Mrs F Officer – Salukis.This pair matched for type and temperament .They worked with handler and in unison. Well presented and in good order.

Group 1 - Petwalk Inspirational (Owned by Mr P Walker & Mrs K Journeaux) – Lhasa Apso. 3rd. BIS.

Group 2 – Mrs L Stewart- Smith: Forepaws Fury - Shih Tzu. Impressive, solid dog. He has quality and type and impressed me when hands on. Strength and balance. Moved as he was made, easily with smooth ground cover. Really well handled.

Group 3 – Miss C A Smithers: Tuttlebees White Venture at Meantmore - Toy Poodle.3rd.BPIS.

Group 4 – Mr P Oliver- Glynfelin Regal Fontaine - French Bulldog. She has type and is in good body. Great character, so typical of the breed. Clean dark eye, distinct stop, filled cheeks and strength in underjaw. Cobby in body. Went well.

Pastoral Group - Judge Mrs Patsy Hollings

Group 1 – Miss B Beaumont & Miss H Bisson - Woodhenge Stars In Your Eyes - For Beaulamey - Welsh Corgi Pembroke. She must finish very well.

Group 2 – Mr A Newcombe - Samspring Your Ultimate Gift- Samoyed. 19 month bitch .Very pleasing to go over, under her profuse, well maintained coat. Has that lovely head and expression, with good pigmentation, that draws one in. Presented in body that is super for age. Performed with handled to display her attributes.

Group 3 – Welsh Corgi (Cardigan) Mrs C V Marett: Twinan Lets Be A Clown at Gayteckels. Very typical bitch, who has large ears set to denote expression. Muscular clean neckline .Good depth and spring of ribs with neat erlbow and has clearance Strong bone and decent feet.

Group 4 – Mr J Bennett - Wakematt Polly of Jasandor - German Shepherd Dog. Handled to work as a team to present a decent easy gait, holding it all together. Alert with lovely eye. Corresponding angulation both ends .Firm hocks .Presents a balanced outline at all times.

Pastoral Puppy Group

Group 1 – Mrs C A Allen- Ribans Our Impressive Queen - Shetland Sheepdog. Repeat.

Group 2 – Mr S & Mrs P Mottershaw - Eeri Come Fly With Me To Elangeni – Whippet. He has shape and soundness. In lovely body.Dry head, good eye and reach to clean neck. Very shapely and held his outline as he moved, which he did with positive foot placement.

Group 3 – Ms S Woodhouse - Serenaker Bergerac Avec Birybarn – Beagle. Pleasing head proportions and clean muscular neck. Level back, well ribbed. In very good body and gleaming coat. He is all hound and did all asked well.

Group 4 – Mrs D Coleman - Oniasid Melisandre Ygritte - Dachshund Miniature Smooth-haired. Happy in good coat. Pretty head and disposition. Rather likes her dinner.

Group 2 – Ms O Lynnyk - Holodnaya Zhara Vivat! Poltava - Russian Black Terrier. I loved her and could have gone either way with this one and the winner. Strong, sound, feminine and full of type. In super condition and coat. Handled to advantage. I was very impressed

Group 3 – Mrs J & Mr D Sharrock - Edison-Eiger Vom Rickental - Entlebucher Mountain Dog. This fit, balanced male, was truly unlucky to meet the winners. He is well put together and pleased for size and balanced. Clean, masculine head with attentive outlook from clean round eyes. Strong in body with long ribs. Slope to croup leads to correct tail set and carriage.
